ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews invoices, manifests, and other supporting documentation for conformance in accordance with Customs regulations and corporate policies.
  • Data entry of commercial information into Customs operating system.
  • Obtains necessary, or missing, documentation by calling client when required.
  • Verifies documentation for entry and rating compliance.
  • Prepares and submits Customs Declarations/Entries to US Customs.
  • Provides customer service and assistance via telephone and email as required.
  • Create and submit entry data reports to management and clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Job requires the ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen
  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment
  • Job will require regular and punctual attendance as well as presence on-site at the assigned work location.

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Customer Service skills, telephone and email communication
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office 365 products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities
  • Above average mathematic skills
  • Data entry / data accuracy skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School graduate or GED
  • 2 years heavy data entry
  • 2-3 years of experience working in the freight forwarding industry performing customs clearance work or similar work supporting the customs clearance process

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas
