Job Responsibilities & Requirements
- Represent MiTek in a professional demeanor, actively supporting the Corporation’s Strategy, Core Values, Guiding Principles, Mission, and Vision
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with existing accounts while focusing on meeting Canadian strategic goals and objectives for growth in MiTek’s 4 pillars
- Prospect new accounts and monitor for accounts in jeopardy
- Regularly communicate with clients in person, via TEAMS, phone and email and plan and execute visits to clients quarterly (regularly as required) to build strong business relationships, respond to their questions, issues, and concerns. Follow-up on activity on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Proactively work with all divisions and related support departments to ensure on time customer service needs are met or exceeded and facilitate the exchange of information on client requirements between all team members including customer service, engineering, accounting, marketing, operations, etc.
- Develop a sales plan with specific and measurable sales objectives together with the VP of Sales that support the overall company objectives and strategy
- Work closely with VP of Sales regarding applicable key national/corporate accounts within district
- Maintain and grow technical knowledge on the homebuilding, commercial, agricultural and multi-family industry.
- Manage and maintain Customer Contracts, License and Service agreements.
- Provide pricing to clients via quotes, contracts and price lists.
- Arrange tours and seminars and accompany machinery installers and software technical support as required.
- Regularly obtain, develop, and report on knowledge of territory, market, code changes, product issues, industry, competitors and market forces
- Visit specifiers & other design professionals, builders, framers, building officials, etc. to promote products, services and specification as required.
- Represent company at trade shows and other professional activities.
- Monthly and regular reporting, expense submission as required
- May be asked to assist accounting department with debit/credit reconciliation.
- Regularly use Salesforce for customer management, leads, cases, file repository and reporting
- Other duties as required.
- Strong time management, organizational and communication skills, great work ethic and team player with a technical aptitude
- Ability to drive successful execution of sales targeting initiatives.
- Must be able to handle various tasks simultaneously and prioritize.
- Ability to act professionally with others, including coworkers, vendors and customers.
- Ability to travel within the defined territory (travel varies and can be up to 50% of time) as well as some occasional out of province/country travel.
- Salesforce knowledge is an asset
- At least 5 years in a sales role in the building products/construction industry
- Ideally Civil Engineering Technologist or similar or Post-Secondary education in an Engineering or Business-related discipline.
- Intermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Outlook
