To support this growth, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to guide the development of our internal and client-facing digital platforms while mentoring a small engineering team and shaping our technical direction.
What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership & Development
- Lead hands-on development across our full technology stack.
- Build and maintain modern JavaScript/TypeScript applications using Vue on the front end and Node-based backend services.
- Design and optimize relational database architecture using ORM-driven modelling.
- Contribute clean, maintainable, production-ready code.
- Manage VPS deployments, server configuration, and production stability.
- Oversee release cycles, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve system performance.
- Introduce best practices for monitoring, logging, backups, and version control (Bitbucket).
- Mentor developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on support.
- Work cross-functionally with design, product, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical plans.
- Support roadmap planning and provide input on technical feasibility and prioritization.
- Integrate third-party APIs, including AI/ML services (OpenAI experience is a plus).
- Contribute to the evolution of new features, tools, and system enhancements aligned with client needs and industry standards.
- Ensure dependable performance and reliability, especially within regulated healthcare-related environments.
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with Vue, Node, and ORM-based database systems.
- Ability to design, maintain, and scale relational database architecture.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a development team.
- Experience managing servers and navigating production issues end-to-end.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration and API-based workflows is an asset.
- Experience building software for healthcare or compliance environments is a plus (not required).
- Strong architectural thinking with the ability to get hands-on.
- Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively.
- Highly organized, reliable, and comfortable owning both code and infrastructure.
- Product-minded, with the ability to translate goals into clear technical execution.
