What you will do…


 



  • Develop contacts with local employers and to act as the initial contact for all employers and to serve as a liaison between employers and Employment Coaches.


 



  • Access and support the employment and job placement of clients accessing the YMCA Employment Services
     


Major Responsibilities/Principal Accountabilities




    • Ensure excellent customer service, communication, and professionalism to build strong relationships with employers, clients, and internal team members.

    • Act as the initial point of contact for employers.

    • Conduct triage, vet employers, and complete employer registration.

    • Coordinate job postings received from employers, serving as the central job board contact. Ensure the internal employer job board is updated promptly.

    • Support employer recruitment by identifying, contacting, and building relationships with prospective employers in labor markets aligned with clients’ interests.

    • Enter and upload accurate information in all required systems within 24 hours, including statistical and financial data, referrals, job development, retention activities, and follow-ups. Maintain detailed case notes for both client and employer information.

    • Negotiate, track, and update expenditure of employer and client budgets.

    • Support Employment Coaches.

    • Attend and actively participate in internal and external meetings, representing the YMCA for case conferencing, professional development, community engagement, and relationship building.

    • Verify system accuracy, correct data incompatibility, and review outputs.

    • Comply with data integrity and security policies on all systems, maintaining confidentiality.

    • Develop employment placements for clients, ensuring compliance with MTCU requirements.

    • Coach and mentor clients and employers.

    • Complete necessary client and employer placement documentation with Employment Coaches.

    • Monitor placements through worksite visits and client progress tracking, in collaboration with Employment Coaches.

    • Promote services to employers to increase awareness, build relationships, and create placement opportunities.

    • Participate in professional development and stay current with labor market trends and information.

    • Actively engage in YMCA staff and networking meetings.

    • Attend workshops, training, conferences, and staff meetings as required.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.



 


What you will bring…


 



  • Completion of a Post Secondary degree/diploma in Human Services.

  • 2-3 years of experience in employment or social services. 

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, database systems, etc.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • This role requires regular travel across the region, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit.  The employee must be able to arrange their own transportation to these sites.  Valid G driver’s license and full-time vehicle access is strongly recommended.  

  • Acceptable Police Check
