Project Manager at Affinity
On behalf of our Healthcare client, Affinity is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex initiatives within the Digital Health portfolio. This role requires a highly organized individual with proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects and delivering outcomes on time and within budget.
The Project Manager will work closely with leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Delivery
• Provide strategic leadership to planning, implementation, and execution of assigned initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and broader system objectives.
• Develop detailed project plans, charters, timelines, milestones, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Define governance structures, decision-making paths, and project roadmaps using appropriate methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, or hybrid).
Track projects spend, forecast against budget, and ensure financial accountability.
• Maintain accurate and complete project documentation in designated repositories.
Team Leadership and Coordination
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical and business resources.
• Facilitate collaboration between internal teams and external partners.
• Support agile practices such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives where applicable.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align objectives.
• Provide regular status updates, progress reports, and executive communications (briefing notes, presentations, change requests).
• Act as a primary point of contact for vendors and integration partners.
• Support development of training materials and change management plans for solution adoption.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
• Ensure adherence to privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
• Coordinate testing and quality assurance activities to ensure deliverables meet defined standards.
Other Responsibilities
• Support program and project roadmaps.
• Develop operational support plans for new solutions.
• Complete reporting requirements as per organizational standards.
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree is an asset.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Experience
• Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably in healthcare, technology, or complex multi-stakeholder environments.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects using hybrid methodologies (waterfall and agile).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project) and documentation best practices.
• Experience working in British Columbia’s healthcare landscape with BC Health Organizations.
• Experience collaborating with diverse partner groups, including executive, clinical, and patient partners.
Certifications
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Additional certifications in Agile, healthcare management, or IT are considered an asset.
Skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight timelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and business audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including risk identification and mitigation.
• Knowledge of privacy, security, and regulatory requirements relevant to healthcare or technology projects.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster collaboration across diverse groups
