Accountant at Progressive Automations

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support our Global operations. This role combines accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting responsibilities. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, support HR/payroll activities for all locations, and play a key role in ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Enter and process vendor invoices in the ERP system.
  • Review and process employee expense claims, verifying approvals and documentation.
  • Manage vendor payments and assist with account reconciliations and vendor statement reviews.
  • Support payment runs in coordination with the Assistant Controller.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Issue customer invoices and apply payments accurately.
  • Maintain AR aging reports (NET 60–90) and monitor collections.
  • Work with the Sales Team to support payment processes and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Manage chargebacks, claims, and unapproved transactions.
  • Amazon (ADF): apply payments, upload RMAs, and investigate discrepancies.

General Ledger & Reconciliations

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Merchant reconciliations (Shopify, Braintree, PayPal, Klarna, Moneris).
  • Support inventory accounting (COGS postings, adjustments) and fixed asset tracking.

Month-End Support

  • Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and accruals for Assistant Controller review.
  • Assist with expense coding and financial reporting.

Cost Accounting For Manufacturing

  • Accurately record expenses associated with in-house production

HR & Administrative

  • Provide accounting-related HR/payroll support

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable; multi-currency experience is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, data analysis).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset with initiative to improve processes.
  • Dependable, results-driven, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive, professional, and accountable in approach.
