Position Overview:

The Refurbishment Technician is responsible for preparing IT equipment for reuse or resale. This includes cleaning, grading, data wiping, and ensuring compliance with company standards and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities: Refurbishment & Preparation

• Perform cleaning and grading of IT equipment including PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and peripherals.
  
  
  

SRC Data Security & Testing:

• Execute data wiping and hardware validation using tools such as Blancco.
• Ensure all devices meet compliance and quality standards before release.
  
  
  

Case Management & Documentation

• Open and update service cases in internal systems (e.g., JDE, EMERGE).
• Record detailed case notes for all actions performed on each unit
  
  
  

Process Compliance

• Follow company refurb and reuse workflows as outlined in the Process Playbook.
• Coordinate with external refurb centers when necessary.
  
  
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Completion of a Secondary school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in IT hardware refurbishment or related field
• Familiarity with data wiping tools and compliance standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes
• Proficiency with internal system (JDE, Emerge) and Microsoft Office
  
  
  

Working Conditions

• Standard company hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand on feet several hours per day as required.
