Position: Physics Subject Matter Expert

Type: Contract

Compensation: $65–$75/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 15–20 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Collaborate asynchronously with a team of experts in Physics.
• Craft, solve, and review challenging problems with real-world applicability.
• Elevate the quality of AI models by integrating domain expertise.
• Work independently to improve AI model performance.
• Ensure high-quality outputs in Physics through rigorous problem-solving.
  
  

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Master's or PhD in Physics from a top US university.
• Experience coding in Python and MATLAB for projects or research.
• Field-specific experience in Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Quantum Information/Computing, Computational Physics, Astrophysics, Particle Physics.
• High attention to detail.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent proficiency in English.
• Based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia.

Interview Process

• Paid for up to 1 hour of onboarding time, including screening and onboarding videos.
  
  

Compensation & Legal

• Legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor.
• Paid weekly via Stripe Connect.
