Your opportunity is to provide a wide range of assessment and therapeutic interventions to primarily pre-school population, and periodically older children as needed. On your team you will work closely and collaboratively with other Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants, as well as Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Social Work, Early Childhood Intervention, and a Dietician. We often work closely with the home care nursing and Social Work teams. Strong community relationships with the local school teams, Pediatricians, FSCD, and other local programs allows us to provide a more coordinated service within our community. A strong link with the Tertiary Hospitals in Edmonton is also key in our success. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. We have a supportive multi-disciplinary team and a very strong focus on work life balance.
Description:
As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Registered with the Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel between sites in Grande Prairie. Completion of a recognized master’s degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent with experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
Alberta Aides to Daily Living (AADL) Authorizer status preferred. Clinical experience in a variety of health care settings, but specific experience with pediatrics and early intervention will be preferred.
