Lead Engineer - Schematics and Apparatus
Location: St-Bruno
Contract – 12 Months

Role:
Looking for Schematics and Apparatus Lead, responsible for leading the design, development, and validation of electrical schematics and apparatus for rolling stock projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the definition, development, and review of train electrical architecture, cubical layout, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and apparatus layouts
- Define and validate the selection of electrical apparatus (relays, circuit breakers, connectors, contactors, etc.) according to functional, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Review and validate functional schematics diagram (PPS- pure principle schemes) and wiring diagram.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant railway standards (EN 50155, EN 50343, EN 50124, EN 50121, IEC 61375, etc.) and engineering processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Systems, Installation, Mechanical, Validation, and Industrialization) to ensure design consistency and integration.
- Support design reviews, verification activities, and technical documentation for manufacturing and testing.
- Responsible for electrical deliverables as per electrical baselines defined in the project.
- Drive standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement in design processes.
- Mentor and guide designers in schematic and apparatus design best practices.
- Maintain healthy KPIs as defined by project requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical schematic and apparatus design, ideally within the rolling stock or rail industry.
- Proven track record in leading design teams on multi-car train projects or complex electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems architecture, protection, and control.
- Familiar with railway norms, standards, and design assurance principles.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Tools: Zuken E3S, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or See Electrical.
