Okta is looking for a Product Design Manager who shares our passion for bringing simple, yet powerful product experiences to Workforce Identity Cloud customers. As a Product Designer Manager for Okta, you’ll lead, grow, and support members of our amazing product design team, ensuring our product user experience is valuable, easy to use, and of the highest level of craft and execution. You will help define and drive practice and process across our global design practice. In close collaboration and partnership with Product and Engineering, you will flesh out, frame, and help prioritize UX in an ever-evolving and complex, often ambiguous, problem space that millions of people rely on every day.

You will lead user experience strategy and execution for the projects across Okta Research & Development (ORD). Specifically, ORD will solve every identity use case at work – for all types of people (employees, business partners, contractors, frontline workers), for all types of resources (SaaS, servers, privileged resources, machines, etc.), for the largest and most secure businesses in the world. As a Product Design Manager, your focus will be on helping us build a secure, trusted, and unified platform with deep integrations.
In this role, you’ll get to…
- Lead, grow, and motivate a high-performing design team
- Establish and maintain a climate in which your reports can do their best work; cultivating design excellence and a place where designers can collaborate and learn.
- Increase Okta’s UX maturity by helping shape team-wide practices, processes, career development, and growing the team.
- Ensure design quality and consistency by reviewing UX deliverables (research, designs, etc.) and provides feedback and direction to ensure high-quality output.
- Thorough understanding of Okta's business strategy and VMTs, influence the product roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional partners while driving design forward at Okta.
- Proactively identify strategic UX opportunities within your domain area and the product as a whole. Closely collaborating with EPD (Engineering, Product, Design) in a global team to lead and drive UX strategy for your product area and drive cross-product initiatives.

- You are passionate about supporting teams with a wide variety of experience, backgrounds, and interests.
- You have a clear philosophy about how to successfully manage design teams.
- You have experience driving organizational change with cross-functional stakeholders.
- You have a collaborative team spirit with great communication skills.

Qualifications:
- Degree in related field or relevant work experience as a UX designer/manager
- Proficient in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and / or similar design tools.
- Possesses at least a basic understanding of HTML / CSS / JavaScript.
- Your portfolio will show that you've worked on complex and challenging technical projects across all aspects of the design process (conceptual design, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design). As well, your portfolio will showcase your values and philosophies with regard to design management, leadership, and UX strategy.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.
