Metal Fabricator - Elkford, B.C. at Elk Valley Resources

Reporting to the Welding/Fabricator/Machine Shop Supervisor, the Metal Fabricator (Fitter), Steel Fabricator, is responsible for maintaining and repairing site structures and equipment in a shop or field environment.

To be successful, you are a safety-focused individual who works well independently or as part of a team, communicates clearly, and brings a strong work ethic to the role.

The position is site-based at our Fording River operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Elkford, B.C is necessary.

In this role you will:

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• In certain components of this role, it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal
• Set up and operate various heavy duty metal working machines such as brake presses, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and drills
• Operate computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form heavy metal components
• Fit and weld metal parts or sections together

Requirements:

• Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Certification
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
• Experience in an industrial maintenance environment and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Hourly Wage: $52.73
