WSP has Canada’s largest Earth & Environment consulting business, with over 5,500 engineers, scientists, and technicians and $1.3B in annual revenue. Our market-leading position in the region draws upon decades of experience and strong client relationships in the oil and gas, mining, government, industrial, energy, and transportation sectors.

To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking a Senior-Vice President, Clients & Growth to join our teams located in any of our WSP Offices in Canada.

The SVP, Clients & Growth is responsible for overseeing, leading and coordinating our growth strategies in the Environment space in Canada. This includes setting our growth strategy and get buy in from the Senior Earth and Environment leadership team to deliver high volume organic growth.

Drawing on your market knowledge and deep understanding of the Earth & Environment industry, you will leverage your leadership experience to further advance WSP’s leading position in these dynamic and growing markets.

Your Impact

  • You will be the Growth leader for Earth and Environment reporting to Executive Vice-President-Earth and Environment
  • You will own the Earth & Environment Clients and Growth strategy, focusing on achieving organic growth that exceeds market benchmarks, enhancing win rates, and cultivating a high-performance, results-driven business development culture.
  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing a holistic growth strategy that aligns with our business objectives and market opportunity in the Environment practice in Canada. This will include:
    • Establish and develop a high-performing sales team of Business Development professionals, working collaboratively with senior operational and technical leaders, to drive accelerated business growth for a diverse client portfolio ranging from small to large customers.
    • Define strategic marketing objectives and, in partnership with business leaders, oversee the management of major project sales opportunities on a day-to-day basis.
    • Leverage data analytics to evaluate market trends and client performance, formulate comprehensive strategic business plans, and lead the development and delivery of sales initiatives for large portfolio clients.
    • Establish and implement robust reporting standards to monitor market potential, manage the sales pipeline and business opportunities, and assess performance and success metrics.
    • Identify and capitalize on high-impact growth end-markets by applying current frameworks and tools, while also innovating new strategies to achieve growth that outpaces industry benchmarks.
    • Champion growth for priority clients by strengthening account relationships and unlocking significant marketing investment opportunities through targeted engagement and strategic planning.
  • You will act as a thought leader, applying advanced in-depth and broad knowledge and be externally recognized as a market leader
  • You will make decisions on highly complex issues regarding growth and market trends and challenges
  • You will closely work with the sub-sector Senior-Vice Presidents to ensure collaboration and alignment on strategy and execution
  • You will make recommendations and make important decisions based on analysis on growth opportunities, key performance indicators, competitive landscape and data driven information.
  • You will work closely with the sub-regional and regional leaders in our collaborative market structure
  • You will oversee the strategic pursuits and proposals team, aligning their efforts and resources with high value growth opportunities

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • More than 15 years’ experience in a leadership role, in the Environment space where growth was the focus;
  • Bachelors degree in a required;
  • Proven experience in business development with an existing vast network in the Environment Canadian market;
  • Strong financial and business acumen -experience with managing business operations and/or a P&L is an asset;
  • Strong understanding of the Environment sector, including industry trends and market insights;
  • Ability to negotiate and build strong relationships with clients.
