The Opportunity
The Infrastructure and Natural Resources (“INR”)group is seeking an experienced investment professional to join our team, with a general focus on Latin America. This position is ideally suited to highly motivated individuals with significant principal investing experience who can manage multiple complex projects and deliver results in a dynamic environment. Our group typically deploys over C$300 million per investment.
As a Director, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing investment activities, including sourcing, evaluating, and executing potential opportunities in infrastructure and natural resources. You will partner directly with management teams to develop and implement investment strategies, enhance portfolio value, and ensure strong financial performance. Post-close, you may assume an active role with portfolio companies, including serving on boards of directors or as a board observer.
You will also contribute to identifying investment sectors, generating deal flow, and strengthening relationships across the financial and investment community. This will include conducting market research, working with consultants, attending conferences and industry events, networking with management teams, and meeting with a wide range of financial and industry participants.

The Director will report to the Managing Director - Natural Resources within the INR group. The Director is part of a high functioning team and a culture where multiple investment groups collaborate to cover the market.
The INR team is a specialized private equity group that seeks to invest directly in global infrastructure and natural resources assets. More specifically, Natural Resources team manages a diversified portfolio of private natural resource investments across energy, mining aquaculture and agriculture, timberland and natural climate solutions. These investments provide stable risk-adjusted returns and diversification against unexpectedly high inflation.
Key Responsibilities
The Director will play an integral role in both the evaluation and execution of transactions, as well as in the ongoing management of existing portfolio investments. A key aspect of the role will also involve overseeing and mentoring junior team members, guiding their work on transactions, asset management, and other strategic projects.

- Contributing to sector theses and deal-flow generation by developing coverage plans, leading thematic research, and cultivating advisor/partner relationships across Latin America;
- Sourcing, originating, and pursuing investment opportunities in natural resources; building and maintaining a network of partners, advisors, and industry participants in key sub-sectors;
- Planning, organizing, and leading the end-to-end deal process, including managing and coordinating external advisors to conduct due diligence on potential opportunities and synthesizing findings into decision materials;
- Leading the negotiation and execution of transaction documentation, financing workstreams, and closing deliverables, ensuring alignment with governance processes;
- Liaising with internal partners (Finance, Legal, Taxation, and Asset Mix & Risk) on transactions and asset management;
- Overseeing the development and use of financial models to evaluate and monitor investments;
- Conducting valuation analyses and assessing key value drivers, financial risks, and growth opportunities; leading the annual internal valuation process and ensuring accurate reporting of investment results;
- Preparing, reviewing, and presenting investment recommendations, reports, and related materials to investment committees and senior management for decision-making;
- Collaborating with portfolio company management and boards of directors to shape investment strategies and implement value-enhancing initiatives, including capital projects, refinancings, and bolt-on acquisitions;
- Reviewing and analyzing business plans, board materials, and operational reports prepared by portfolio companies to ensure alignment with investment objectives; and
- Overseeing and mentoring junior team members; delegating for development, providing timely feedback, and building a high-performing team.
- 10+ years of work experience in providing private equity investment expertise in Infrastructure and Natural Resources for Latin America;
- Experience investing in the agricultural sector highly desirable
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently;
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and ability to perform in-depth, innovative, critical analysis;
- Experience leading material aspects of the investment process, including financial modelling, conducting due diligence, transaction documentation and participating in debt financing;
- Strong project management skills and ability to create a cohesive process in an unstructured environment in order to execute efficiently on opportunities; and
- Ability to meet tight timelines and operate in a highly driven and fast paced work environment
- Fluency in Spanish (an asset)
- Undergraduate Degree or Masters Degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance or Business Administration
