Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact Kinectrics’ Design & Engineering Services department is seeking a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Program Manager to lead and support the BIM program and project delivery using advanced BIM tools. The BIM Program Manager will act as a trusted technical advisor, Subject Matter Expert (SME), and delivery lead contributor, providing hands-on BIM support to project teams while advancing the organization’s enterprise BIM strategy. In a consulting and matrix delivery environment, the role is predominantly delivery-focused (approximately 75%), with the remaining time (approximately 25%) dedicated to developing and maintaining standards, enabling digital engineering capabilities, mentoring teams, and supporting business and client objectives Key responsibilities include:
  • Project Support & Technical Delivery: Act as a direct technical resource to project teams by developing BIM models, coordinating multi-disciplinary model integration, preparing BIM deliverables, and resolving design coordination issues in real time.
  • Subject-Matter Expertise: Provide hands-on guidance on BIM applications for mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, and architectural design, with a strong focus on nuclear facility requirements.
  • Program Oversight: Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the BIM roadmap to ensure consistent adoption of standards and best practices across all projects.
  • Governance & Compliance: Support the creation, enforcement, and continuous refinement of BIM protocols, workflows, and quality assurance measures in alignment with regulatory and nuclear industry standards.
  • Process Optimization: Identify gaps in BIM execution across projects and recommend or implement practical improvements in workflows, tools, automation, and digital integration.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to ensure BIM deliverables are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project and program expectations.
  • Training & Enablement: Support development and delivery of BIM training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops to enhance BIM capability across project teams.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay current on emerging BIM and digital engineering technologies, perform hands-on evaluations, and recommend adoption strategies that add value to active projects.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Prepare BIM progress updates, performance metrics (e.g. cost, schedule & risk management), and lessons learned for both project teams and senior leadership.

What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline required.
  • PMP or Program Management certification an asset.
  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on BIM implementation, modelling, and coordination experience (mandatory).
  • Additional 3 years of direct project or program management responsibilities within multi-disciplinary engineering environments (on top of the 8 years BIM experience).
  • Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industries is mandatory.
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Proficiency in 2D/3D design tools & strong working knowledge of BIM and digital engineering platforms.
    • Required – Excellent Proficiency (Level 4)
      • Autodesk Suite: AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, Raster Design, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor, BIM Collaborate
      • AVEVA: E3D Design (PDMS), AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Enterprise, Point Cloud Manager

  • Industry Knowledge
    • Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance standards and codes (e.g., CSA N285/N286, ASME, ASTM).
  • Core Competencies
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams of at least 5 members
    • Strong organizational, coordination, and planning abilities.
    • Proven capability to influence without direct authority and work effectively across disciplines.
    • Demonstrated ability to supervise junior staff or provide mentorship to developing team members.
    • Solid analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement, digital adoption, and problem-solving.
  • Additional Requirements
    • Ability to obtain and maintain OPG and Bruce Power security clearance.

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
