Ingredion Canada is hiring a Food Technologist to provide technical support and expertise to customers for a broad range of food and beverage applications. The Technologist will support accounts to assist with managing existing product line, develop new products, and create customer valued solutions.
As a Technologist, you will be responsible for developing & preparing food formulations and prototypes for various customer and business initiatives on a lab bench top and pilot plant scale utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices. You will also perform research related duties as needed, support internal and external customer requests, execute analytical testing, and prepare technical reports with guidance from your manager.
The Technologist reports into the Project Leader, Customer Innovation, T&HS, US/CAN

Pay Range:
$72,000.00-$96,000.00 Annual
This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
- Support assigned accounts and lead customer projects with these accounts.
- Provide technical expertise and support to customers for a broad range of food & beverage applications.
- Utilize knowledge of Ingredion’s products and solutions and their applications in customers’ products.
- Utilize a range of analytical tools to support customers.
- Conduct pilot and production scale trials in our IdeaLabs, Pilot Plants and at customers’ facilities.
- Build open and collaborative relationships with customers and Ingredion’s various internal teams.
- Deliver projects on time and prioritize work according to shifting customer needs.
- B.S in Food Science/ Food Engineering/ Chemical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of common food applications/ processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions.
- Experience with hands-on food concept development formulation using culinary, laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment is a plus.
- Experience working with technical information, innovation and food science technical terms (i.e., food formulations, specifications, etc.).
- Prior customer experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel ~30% Canada & US.
- Customer focused mindset, proven people skills, self-motivation and focus on results.
- Strong technical curiosity and dedication for continuous learning and passion for food science / culinology.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical reports and deliver technical presentations
- Problem-solving skills and experience dealing with ambiguity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
