We are looking for a Senior Business Development & Solutions Lead who thrives at the intersection of strategy, customer engagement, and complex industrial solutions. This role is ideal for someone who naturally builds trusted relationships, understands industrial and digital ecosystems, and enjoys shaping opportunities from early concepts through to execution.

This position plays a critical role in identifying growth opportunities, influencing solution design, supporting project pursuits, and working closely with sales, operations, and technical teams to bring value-focused solutions to market.

What You Bring To The Table

Client Engagement & Market Leadership

  • Develop and expand a strong network of relationships across targeted industrial market ecosystems, including owners, EPCs, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Build lasting relationships with client decision-makers, becoming a trusted advisor and preferred partner for construction, automation, and industrial process optimization initiatives.
  • Maintain a deep curiosity for understanding client operations, production processes, and challenges, allowing you to identify both stated and unmet needs.
  • Represent Laurentide externally through participation in industry events, conferences, and thought leadership activities, including technical papers and articles.

Business Development & Opportunity Creation

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Laurentide’s strategic priorities and purpose.
  • Lead early-stage project pursuit activities, shaping a compelling, value-driven vision that integrates digital, automation, and operational excellence principles (Born Digital approach).
  • Collaborate with sales teams to generate and nurture leads, manage the opportunity pipeline, and support conversion through to contract award.
  • Evaluate opportunities based on strategic alignment, technical feasibility, financial viability, and overall risk.

Solutions & Proposal Leadership

  • Lead or contribute to the development of high-quality proposals, including technical concepts, value-added offerings, pricing strategies, schedules, and key deliverables.
  • Act as a central point of coordination between customers, internal subject matter experts, and partners to ensure proposed solutions meet customer needs and differentiate Laurentide in the market.
  • Support RFP reviews and proposal strategies to ensure solutions are competitive, compliant, and aligned with customer outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, digital, and operations teams to ensure a seamless transition from pursuit to execution.

Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, EPCs, and economic development organizations.
  • Work closely with internal teams—sales, marketing, operations, and business units—to ensure alignment of strategies and a consistent customer experience.
  • Support the Business Unit in defining strategic business orientations and identifying long-term development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate, document, and refine business strategies that support Laurentide’s purpose and growth objectives.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Conduct ongoing market research to identify trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform business development strategies and decision-making.
  • Support market expansion initiatives by assessing new market entry strategies, regulatory considerations, and customer segments.
  • Contribute to innovative sales and marketing initiatives that increase brand recognition and market presence.

Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a natural leader who can rally colleagues around a shared vision and motivate teams to execute strategic plans.
  • Provide leadership and focus for strategic initiatives within the Business Unit.
  • Work with operations teams to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and delivery effectiveness.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership on pipeline status, market opportunities, and progress.

Essential Skills And Qualifications To Be Successful

  • A strong background in industrial, automation, digital, or process-related environments, with the ability to connect technical solutions to business value.
  • Proven experience in business development, solution consulting, or complex project pursuits within industrial markets.
  • Solid understanding of industrial processes, automation systems, digital solutions, or operational technologies (hands-on expertise is an asset, but not mandatory).
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across sales, engineering, operations, and external partners.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, and pipeline management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently while contributing to team success.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support customer engagement and market development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French; proficiency in English is considered an asset.
