We are hiring a Manager, In store Marketing

Reporting to the Senior Manager, In-Store Marketing, the incumbent, will be responsible for the management and delivery of in store Campaigns, Signage and Print materials ensuring that strategic objectives along with innovation through POP captures a unique customer In-Store experience. The Manager, In store Marketing will act as the liaison between internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Operations, Design & Construction, Marketing and Merchandising teams) and external vendors (e.g. Print vendor, Promotional merchandise vendor) to optimize store programs and to ensure the campaigns drive high impact and differentiation though the customer In-Store experience.

What you will do;

  • Strategic Planning & Campaign Execution
  • Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of in-store marketing initiatives, including campaigns, signage, and print materials, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and a unique customer experience.
  • Oversee all aspects of program implementation, including workbacks, timelines, shipping, kitting, and fulfillment.
  • Lead the development of detailed executional briefs for annual in-store campaigns.
  • Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing, the Loblaw Agency, Creative, Production, and in-store communication specialists to develop innovative POP materials and prototypes, ensuring all marketing assets meet technical requirements, brand standards, and Shoppers Drug Mart guidelines.
  • Monitor project deliverables, proactively identify risks, and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Drive special projects and innovation to elevate the in-store experience, prioritizing customer needs and operational/merchandising standards.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Design & Construction, Marketing, Merchandising, Creative, Production, Category Management, Legal, Store Planning, Promotions, Store Operations, Call Centre, Translation) and external vendors (e.g., print, promotional merchandise).
  • Manage supplier quotes and negotiation processes for in-store campaigns and materials.
  • Source in-store hardware, fixtures, and promotional merchandise, including innovation and product refreshes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to ensure stakeholder alignment on strategy, objectives, priorities, and executional requirements.
  • Process Optimization & Quality Assurance
  • Recommend and implement production process improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimize turnaround times.
  • Support store audits, maintain accurate store profiles with print vendors, and troubleshoot signage issues to ensure successful program execution.
  • Gather feedback and insights to create post-mortem reports and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Financial Oversight
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and responsible financial management.
  • Create purchase orders, process invoices, and manage monthly financial forecasting for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the annual in-store marketing forecast, track actuals, and provide clear financial reporting and insights to senior leadership.
  • Handle financial reconciliation for the In-Store Marketing Portal.
  • Manage the Holiday and Everyday Décor & Wrap programs for Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmaprix, and Beauty Boutique, including overseas sourcing, inventory management, replenishment, packaging, logistics, and distribution.
  • Administer the In-Store Marketing Portal, including inventory management, annual content review, replenishment, reporting, and maintenance of the template library.

What you will bring;

  • This role requires a strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and can collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external partners to achieve business results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to use basic formulas and functions, such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables, to analyze data, track budgets, and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Ability to drive innovation and differentiation though new visual ideas and techniques.
  • Highly adaptable, able to prioritize tasks in a shifting environment, and effective in collaborating with a wide range of personalities and working styles.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated negotiation and multi-tasking abilities to manage competing timelines. Highly organized and capable of overseeing a diverse portfolio of programs.
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to handle tight deadlines and last-minute revisions
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills, both oral and written.

Education & Job Knowledge

  • Post secondary education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Graphic Communications or Marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of print production and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian retail, and in-store marketing would be an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of Project management or Visual Merchandising experience
  • Experience working with a Retailer or Print Company would be an asset
