Title: Community Health Nurse
Salary: $94,724 – $114,261 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Witset (area), Health Center
Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)
What We Offer
As Community Health Nurse, you will – Provide a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services in remote First Nations communities in program areas of community and public heath, primary care, and urgent and emergent care. This includes health promotion and disease and injury prevention for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.

As Community Health Nurse, you will – Provide a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services in remote First Nations communities in program areas of community and public heath, primary care, and urgent and emergent care. This includes health promotion and disease and injury prevention for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.
Some Duties And Responsibilities Include
- Applies and utilizes key nursing knowledge and critical thinking to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and interventions to address health issues, taking into account relevant evidence, legislation, regulations, and policies.
- Collects, assesses, analyzes, and applies information from various data sources to make evidence informed decisions for nursing services, including program planning, development and priority setting with individuals, families, groups, and communities, and interprets information for professional and community audiences.
- Utilizes evidence and research to inform health policies, programs, and practices. Synthesizes nursing and health knowledge to address the health status of populations, inequities in health, determinants of health, strategies for health promotion, disease and injury prevention, health protection, case management, as well as the factors that influence the delivery and use of nursing and health services.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support Certification Level C.
- Completion of a recognized specialty nursing program is an asset.
- Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
- Minimum one (1) year of recent point-of-care nursing experience in a related or relevant field.
