- Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, specifically through coordinating review engagements, related disclosures and other client deliverables
- Demonstrate experience and ability to act as an in-charge on engagements and communicate efficiently with clients
- Collaborate with the engagement senior manager and partners on engagement approach and execute on the plan
- Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and tax issues, including possible taxable benefits and tax saving measures.
- Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as corporate tax returns, HST returns, payroll memos and related tax slips
- Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise
- Manage time appropriately across multiple projects
- Recognize and communicate significant accounting and tax matters to senior manager and partner on engagement
- Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, regulations and best practices
- Supervise associates, monitoring and reporting regarding productivity and adherence to work plan and budget
- Participate in our coaching program as a coach of 2 – 3 junior team members
- Identify performance improvement opportunities for team members
- Contribute to business development efforts, including client relationship management
- 4 – 6 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment
- CPA Certification
- Review engagement experience required
- Understanding and knowledge of ASPE and relevant income tax sections
- Experience with Taxprep and CaseWare or similar software is an asset
