Director Wealth Management at Cowan Insurance Group
The Director of Wealth Management is accountable for the growth, profitability, operational effectiveness, and leadership for Cowan’s Wealth Management practice. This role drives business growth, ensures regulatory compliance, fosters a client-centric culture and focuses on the development and leadership of individuals across the Wealth team.
What you will do:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic vision for the wealth management; aligning with corporate goals and market trends.
- Team development: Build, manage and actively lead a team by providing coaching and mentoring; align, assess, and manage performance expectations through the Individual Performance Plan process; reinforce high performance sales and service behaviors and engagement including talent management and succession planning
- Sales development: Develop and plan account strategies and work with your team to develop sales plans and objectives (i.e., volume, business development plans, market penetration) to highlight growth potential and clearly define account priorities
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with high-net-worth clients, ensuring exceptional service and tailored financial solutions. Create, assess and review operational effectiveness to ensure client Service Level Agreement (SLA) are adhered to
- Market and Industry knowledge: Build and maintain knowledge base of competitors and consumer/customer trends in the marketplace/industry, integrating this information into strategic recommendations
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. Audit ready and risk mitigation strategies are put in place.
- Technology & Innovation: Proactively identify innovation and analyse cost effective digital tools and platforms to enhance client experience and operational efficiency.
- Reporting & Analytics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), client satisfaction metrics, and financial outcomes. Present insights to executive leadership.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Insurance and/or Wealth Management industry with demonstrated success
- University Degree/College Diploma
- Strong knowledge of Life insurance and Living benefits products, along with solid financial acumen
- Mutual Fund License preferred
- Life License (LLQP) or ability to obtain
- CLU, ChFC designation preferred
- Proven relationship building skills and strong internal and external business partnerships
- Demonstrated success in developing high performing teams, client retention, process improvement and profitability
- Ability to adapt and respond to changing conditions, priorities, and requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to express information and opinions with consistency, clarity and in a straightforward manner
- Careful attention to detail and ability to apply knowledge and expertise to provide outstanding customer service
- Highly organized, attention to detail and excellent follow-through required
- Exceptional decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style with ability to support the growth of all staff
