Automotive/Heavy Equipment Fleet Supervisor – YYC Fueling at Menzies Aviation

Main accountabilities include:
- Schedules all preventive maintenance inspections.
- Maintains all equipment records.
- Coordinate’s scheduling of equipment to be repaired.
- Coordinates all QA inspections on fuel equipment.
- Ensure ground equipment and fueling repair deadlines are met.
- Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
- Operate motorized equipment.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees.
- Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy.
- Orders parts required for preventive maintenance and major repairs.
- Complete shift reports and sign timecards
- Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms.
- Prepare disciplinary incident and/or termination reports.
- Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed.
- Comply with the company’s attendance/tardiness standards.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience in leading a team (preferably as Service Manager or Shop Foreman)
- 3 to 5 years mechanical experience. Completion of an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic degree program or Red Seal Mechanic (preferred).
- Must have knowledge of heavy-duty diesel/automotive equipment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Clean driving record with Drivers Abstract certified copy.
- Must be able to obtain and hold all required security clearances.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., comfortable with bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling various items.
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials, and documents.
- Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
- Must be flexible to work all hours/days including nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by operational requirements.
