Interior Health is looking for an experienced Project Lead, Population Health to join our team on a part time Term basis. This position is expected to last until at least March 31st 2027, but may continue for longer.
This position offers a flexible work location from within the Interior Health region.
What We Offer
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
About The Job
The Project Lead, Population Health, is an integral member of the Healthy Schools team, responsible for supporting relationship-building efforts with First Nations schools and the implementation and evaluation of PreVenture—a prevention program designed to promote mental health and reduce the risk of substance use through personality-focused interventions. Reporting to the Manager, Healthy Start Healthy Schools, and collaborating with the existing Healthy Schools Project Lead and Program Specialists, the role involves fostering partnerships with First Nations schools across the Interior Region, promoting the PreVenture program, and ensuring its evaluation and implementation are approached through a cultural safety lens.
The Project Lead will work closely with their counterpart on the Healthy Schools team and with Foundry BC to maintain a provincial strategy for PreVenture, manage inventory records and data reporting, and plan, attend, and facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include supporting the broader Healthy Schools initiatives, such as participating in school health program reviews and accreditation processes, as well as contributing to strategic planning within the Healthy Start Healthy Schools team.
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Project Lead, Population Health supports the Manager, Healthy Start Healthy Schools (HSHS) and team by guiding the implementation and expansion of health promotion and prevention programming.
The Project Lead utilizes project management and group facilitation methods, and acts as a resource to leaders and designated staff (and others). Using an equity lens, the Project Lead develops plans for future implementation, and delivers presentations to existing and new partners. Additionally, the Project Lead develops reports and oversees project administrative activities including maintaining records, responding to inquiries, etc. The Project Lead links with the HSHS and key partners, both internal and external to the Health Authority to facilitate ongoing collaboration.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyzes program initiatives and opportunities and provides feedback to the Manager and other leaders on the feasibility and requirements for the achievement of objectives; maps out alignment with future direction; and ensures initiatives are aligned with other cross-functional organizational initiatives and program improvement strategies.
- Identifies and promotes an expedited resolution to problems or barriers to enable successful program delivery
- Provides updates to the Manager on the implementation of the project and issues, and prepares reports, briefings, and presentations, budget projections, researching elements as required.
- Provides facilitation assistance for assigned area of specialty to leaders and designated staff (and others).
- Collaborates with and supports department and portfolio leaders for a coordinated and strategic approach to the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives related to the HSHS program.
- Promotes consistent processes and continuous improvement of practices for project success and alignment throughout the HSHS program.
- Collaborates with departments to identify, develop, implement, evaluate, and report on the impact and outcomes of project(s).
- On behalf of the Manager, and working with other partners on program implementation, monitors program plans, measures progress towards goals and objectives, and identifies key factors that account for deviation from stated goals and objectives.
- Provides project management expertise to guide and support the implementation of initiatives.
- Liaises externally with others, including representatives of other Health Authorities, and supports and/or identifies opportunities to partner with other Health Authorities, regional entities, community agencies, and private partners in system redesign or program improvements.
- Leads a range of discreet projects; develops guidelines, templates, and critical activity pathways; and makes recommendations for action.
- In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
