Job Overview:

Ecolab is currently seeking candidates for an Account Manager within our Nalco Water Downstream group. This is your opportunity to join a large growing company offering a competitive base salary, bonus structure and benefits. You will be primarily responsible for maintaining established accounts as well as identifying and developing new market opportunities within the strategic growth area. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn all facets of water process and fuel additive applications in chemical processing plants, refineries and upgraders, as well as the opportunity to enhance and display communication skills through every level of our key customer’s personnel. You will take a consultative sales approach with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and retention of strategic accounts. In addition, you will build long-term relationships with a large customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new technologies.

Duties:

  • Working closely with customers to understand business needs and recommending continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within the assigned territory
  • Identifying and soliciting potential clients
  • Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including plant or facility executives
  • Consulting with clients after sale to resolve problems
  • Generating and executing sales plans in assigned customer base to meet defined territory profit increase goals
  • Assessing market conditions and competitors’ activities and developing an awareness of emerging markets and trends
  • Providing technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer complaints, escalating as required
  • Engaging in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels
  • Actively selling and supporting innovations and technology in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry)
  • 7+ years technical sales or field sales support experience or related industry experience
  • Prior experience within Overhead Corrosion, Demulsification, Refinery process chemicals or Fuel additives
  • Must have valid Driver’s License
  • Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Previous Refinery/Petrochemical experience
  • Ability to work independently and must be self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to learn internal business systems
  • Account Management experience that includes calling on multilevel plant of facilities management to accomplish company goals
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
  • Water treatment experience is an asset
  • Must have ability to Lift/Push/Pull/Carry up to 55 pounds chest high
  • Ability to travel within the Alberta geographic territory up to 30%
  • Flexibility to provide emergency customer support during off hours and weekends as needed
