How does the role impact the organization?
Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as Associate Vice President, HR Operations & Technology. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Human Resources, this role is pivotal in shaping and executing end-to-end recruitment and talent strategies that align with the firm’s long-term business goals.
The Associate Vice President, HR Operations & Technology will drive strategic HR initiatives, bridging HR and business goals with people functions by leveraging technology (HRIS, data analytics, etc.) for efficiency, talent management, compliance, overseeing areas like HRIS, payroll, talent acquisition tech, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness, all while managing budgets and leading change. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of building high-performing teams, fostering internal and external partnerships, and driving operational excellence.
What will your role be responsible for?
Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment
- Align functional technology priorities with enterprise architecture, data, security, and innovation strategies.
- Enhance and optimize the HR service delivery model including implementing new efficiencies and improving HRs data/insight/analytics capability.
- Lead the development and execution of an integrated HR technology strategy and roadmap
- Establish fit-for-purpose tools, metrics, and controls to promote efficiency and capacity creation to include SLAs, skill matrices, audits, etc.
- Champion transformation and modernization efforts across corporate platforms, integrating emerging technologies including AI, automation, and analytics.
- Collaborate with IT and other Strategic Business CIOs to align HR technology direction with broader enterprise objectives.
Human Resources Technology Leadership
- Drive the digitization of the employee lifecycle, enhancing workforce experience and analytics capabilities.
- Introduce fit-for-purpose generative AI and ML-based solutions to improve decision-making, talent intelligence, and HR operations.
- Drive annual and periodic refreshes of strategic HR technology roadmaps, incorporating enterprise planning cycles and business demand trends.
AI, Data & Innovation Enablement
- Oversee the growth and integration of generative AI, natural language processing (NLP), predictive analytics, and intelligent automation into business workflows.
- Champion the use of data-driven insights and digital tools to drive smarter business decisions across corporate functions.
- Build effective management reporting expertise to improve HR insights, talent analytics and trend analyses to support strategic imperatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous innovation through experimentation, design thinking, and cross-functional use case development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Demand Management
- Partner with business function leaders to gather, prioritize, and align technology needs and demand across departments.
- Serve as the intake owner and strategic planner for cross-functional initiatives, facilitating prioritization, funding decisions, and resource optimization.
- Collaborate with Shared Services, Data, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure aligned delivery and architectural integrity.
- Manage the partnership with the business and related implementation of and changes to HR systems
- Work closely with key stakeholders, HR, leaders, line managers, employees, and external stakeholders to effectively manage HR change and transformation agenda.
Process Improvement and Efficiencies:
- Identify and drive process efficiencies: understand process flows and determine where efficiencies can be derived and incorporate checks and balances in the system to achieve accuracy and ensure appropriate approvals.
- Partner with key stakeholders to establish prioritized issues and enhancements / corrective actions while effectively maximizing available resources
- Identify key business drivers, dependencies and opportunities to create the case for change within HR in support of the firm’s strategic imperatives
- Consider downstream impacts of HR systems and process flows when identifying areas for improvement
Leadership and team management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR Operations & Technology team to achieve high performance.
- Manages a HR Ops and Technology team ensuring effective, accurate and timely delivery of HR data / insights, reports (adhoc and recurring) and data security and integrity.
Vendor / stakeholder management:
- Build collaborative partnerships across the firm, including regular interaction with senior leaders
- Serve as a business liaison and contract representative with third-party vendors within the HR Ops and Technology sphere
- Negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Metrics and reporting:
- Track and analyze key recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-to-hire, etc.) to identify trends, measure success, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on recruitment metrics, trends and opportunities.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies in all recruitment activities.
- Ensure the protection and preservation of personnel data in accordance and compliance with internal policy and local regulations / legislation.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to recruitment standards.
Workday & Other Projects:
- In collaboration with IT and key stakeholders, design, develop, and support the implement a new global HCM system (Workday) to achieve scale, efficiency, and a more consistent and customer centric experience to all RJ workers population
- Acts as key stakeholder and Project Lead for key HR projects and initiatives within the HR Ops, technology and data insights space in partnership with other key stakeholders.

What do we expect from you?
To qualify for this opportunity you possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related area of study.
- Professional certification and/or MBA accreditation would be considered a valuable asset.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar sized, complex and multi-stakeholder environment
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role (Snr. Manager or above) and sized organization.
- Proven experience in HRIS implementation (i.e. Workday) and project management would be considered a valuable asset.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, principles and concepts.
- An acceptable combination of academic accreditation, professional certification and experience will be considered in lieu of minimum requirement.

- Proficient with HRIS (Workday, etc.), ATS, Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, PowerBI or related software.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc) $130,000-150,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
