Job Title: Cleanroom Technician
Location: Royal Drugs, Burnaby

Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experience
Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Business hours are Monday to Friday 8 am – 4 pm (Shifts are 7:00am-3:00pm, and 8:00am-4:00pm – 6am-2pm on a rotational basis). Available to work on statutory holidays (on an on-call rotational basis) if needed
Must be flexible to adapt to possible changes in work schedule in future based on business needs, potentially including evenings and weekends

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory of sufficient supplies in dispensary to meet compounding demands.
  • Prepare, process, dispense, and compound intravenous admixtures of antibiotics, total parenteral nutrition and other orders as per defined work instructions.
  • Pick, inspect, verify, and disinfect all components against the order sheet to be used for compounding.
  • Enter and program infusion pump parameters to be verified by the pharmacist.
  • Perform validation, calibration, and microbiological monitoring and checking.
  • Assist in the cleaning of equipment, totes, and work surfaces and maintain facility compliance with Royal Drugs standards.
  • Maintain and participate in inventory counts

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy practice setting.
  • Secondary school education and 1 year pharmacy experience an asset

Skills:
  • IV experience or prior experience in a hospital or outpatient setting ideal, but not required.
  • Sound knowledge of aseptic technique an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands made simultaneously under short time constraints.
  • Able to work individually and in a group setting.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes of responsibility reflective of the business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
