Your role
Radio-Canada Ontario is seeking an energetic Associate Producer, On-Air Production to join the Windsor station team for the program Matins sans frontières. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and strong judgment.
You will be assigned to the daily on-air production of the live morning show, broadcast from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. You will take part in the production and/or post-production of a program or program segments.
You may regularly seek advice, feedback, and guidance from one or more producers; however, you will be given sufficient autonomy to demonstrate initiative and independent judgment.
Your work must comply with Radio-Canada’s policies, practices, and standards, including the Journalistic Standards and Practices. The position may involve coordinating the activities of other staff members, and close collaboration with the programming unit is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks related to the live on-air production of the radio program from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday to Friday.
- Write and deliver daily sports news segments on air.
- Contribute ideas for program content and participate in setting program objectives.
- Secure studios, lines, and other technical and production resources required for the program.
- Assist in developing program content, including web writing, research, interview planning and editing.
- In collaboration with the host-producer, coordinate and prepare pre-recorded programs.
- Select music and sound effects.
- Organize the participation of interviewees, creative staff, and other collaborators; develop context, introductions, and questions; conduct or coordinate necessary research; and brief hosts accordingly.
- Maintain contact records.
- Process invoices and obtain required authorization signatures.
- Participate in the evaluation of all aspects of production.
- Substitute for other team members as needed in various roles, including Associate Producer (Research), Cultural and Community Journalist or Host.
- Produce program segments.
- Direct programs, live or recorded, in studio or on location.
- Assign, supervise, and coordinate the work of staff members involved in projects under your responsibility.
- Edit and mix audio and visual elements, or oversee their editing and mixing.
- Write transitions, revise scripts, edit and prepare voice messages for broadcast or publication.
- Enter programs and music into appropriate information systems.
- Edit, encode, digitize, and index digital audio and images for websites and social media using appropriate technologies.
- Help maintain audience engagement that is appropriate and achievable given the program’s style and nature.
- Perform other production and administrative duties related to the smooth operation of the newsroom, programming unit, or station.
- University degree or equivalent
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience, including exposure to journalism, computing, and broadcast, television, and online technologies
- Experience booking interview guests, preparing questions, writing targeted introductions, and producing recorded segments
- Demonstrated originality and creativity in news production for radio, television, and online platforms, with proven writing skills
- Excellent command of spoken and written French
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong team player
- Comfortable with the demands and realities of news production across radio, television, and digital platforms
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and under time pressure
- Ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively (open to new ideas and approaches)
- Availability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as required
- Understanding of Radio-Canada’s organizational structure and Journalistic Standards and Practices
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Ontario and issues affecting the Franco-Ontarian community
- Team spirit
- Resourcefulness and initiative
