Key Responsibilites
- Backlog & Delivery Readiness
- Own and maintain a prioritized, delivery-ready backlog aligned to Product Manager-defined outcomes.
- Ensure work entering development is sufficiently defined, understood, and sequenced for effective sprint execution.
- Own requirement quality, not document volume - producing lightweight, fit-for-purpose artifacts (including PRDs when appropriate).
Requirements & Quality Ownership- Translate product outcomes into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and validation approaches.
- Identify and incorporate non-functional requirements such as security, data integrity, performance, and scalability.
- Act as the quality gatekeeper for your domain, with authority to accept or reject work based on acceptance criteria and readiness standards.
Sprint & Iteration Planning- Partner with Engineering on sprint and iteration-level planning, refinement, and execution.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives to support predictable, high-quality delivery.
- Coordinate dependencies and sequencing within and across teams when needed.
System Integrity & Product Understanding- Develop deep understanding of product workflows, data models, integrations, and downstream impacts.
- Anticipate how changes affect the broader system and ensure solutions fit coherently within the platform.
- Protect long-term product quality while enabling continuous delivery.
Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration- Engage customers and internal stakeholders for requirements clarification, workflow validation, UAT, and post-release feedback.
- Represent the voice of the customer within the delivery team to ensure solutions solve real problems.
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, QA, and Client Success.
Release & Readiness- Validate release readiness for your scope, ensuring quality, completeness, and operational readiness.
- Support accurate release communication by ensuring functional behavior, constraints, and impacts are well understood.
- Lead technical and functional training for Client Success, Support and Sales teams prior to every release.
- Oversee user manuals and configuration guides, ensuring that Marketing and Sales materials are technically accurate.
AI as a Core Work Skill- Use AI tools to improve clarity, quality, and delivery efficiency.
- Apply AI to synthesize feedback, validate requirements, surface edge cases, and improve documentation quality.
- Ensure AI-assisted outputs are reviewed, validated, and used responsibly in a regulated environment.
What Success Looks Like
- Backlogs are consistently ready, clear, and trusted by Engineering.
- Defects are prevented early through strong requirements and acceptance discipline.
- Releases are predictable, stable, and fit for use.
- Product Managers trust that outcomes are translated accurately and executed with quality.
- The system remains coherent and maintainable as it evolves.
- Teams move faster because ambiguity and rework are reduced.
Formal Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar product delivery role within an Agile environment.
- Experience delivering B2B SaaS or enterprise software; fintech or regulated industry experience is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of iterative delivery, Agile principles, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to define high-quality requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Comfort working with complex systems, data flows, and inter-team dependencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with modern product and delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence or equivalent).
- CSPO or equivalent practical experience is a plus.
Proven Qualities
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for quality and readiness.
- Ability to simplify complexity and bring clarity to ambiguous problems.
- Systems thinker who understands how parts connect and impact one another.
- Pragmatic, detail-oriented, and outcome-focused.
- Curious, learning-oriented, and comfortable adopting new tools — including AI — to improve effectiveness.
- Advanced degree in a technical or business field.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks.
Why Join Us At Univeris, you’ll be part of a product organization that:
- Is actively modernizing from on-premise to SaaS.
- Values clear ownership and high-quality execution.
- Treats Product Ownership as a craft, not a coordination role.
- Invests in learning, systems thinking, and modern product practices.
You’ll help build software that financial advisors and firms rely on every day - and you’ll do it in an environment that values clarity, trust, and impact
