Machinist at Drilling Tools International, Inc.
Machinist – Leduc, Canada Based
Responsible for the production of machined parts including API connections by
setting up, and operating a manual or CNC machine lathe, maintaining quality and
safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Machinists are expected to adhere all safety and quality policies of Drilling Tools
International, Inc.
Education:
• GED or High School Diploma preferred
Experience:
• 1 year of machining experience preferred
• Familiarity of API threads
• Previous QC inspection and tool measurement experience preferred
Qualifications:
• Ability to communicate on technical issues.
• Ability to record tool specifications for quality and performance
purposes
• Must be able to read and interpret charts, drawings and blueprints
• Must be able to read, interpret and follow work instructions
Key Responsibilities/ Essential Functions of the Position:
• Crane operations, lifting, holding and indicate parts
• Operate machine tools such as lathes to produce metal parts
• Proficient loading and unloading and operation of machinery
• Check and review accuracy of work against written blueprints and
specifications
• Gauge and inspect parts to drawing specifications / tolerances
• Calculate where to cut and bore
• Determine how much material to remove
• Monitor and control feed rate and speed
• Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations
• Ensure work piece is properly lubricated and/or cooled
• Replacement of dull cutting tools
• General clean up and maintenance of work area
• Daily machine inspections
• Other duties as assigned
