Fitness Centre Attendant

Permanent, Part-Time(26.25 Hours / week)

Weekday evening shifts. Hours of work from 5 PM to 10:15 PM.

Pay range: $18.58 - $23.22 / hour

Are you passionate about fitness and wellness? Do you have a strong customer service mindset and love helping others achieve their fitness goals? The City of Leduc is seeking a dedicated Fitness Center Attendant to join our Wellness Services team at the Leduc Recreation Center.

What is the Opportunity?

In this role, you will report directly to the Fitness Centre Supervisor and be responsible for providing a welcoming, supportive environment for patrons of the Fitness Center. You will assist with the safe and proper use of fitness equipment, foster positive relationships with members, ensure high standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service, assist with youth engagement, and perform closing duties to set the following opening shift up for success.

What will you do?

As a Fitness Center Attendant, You Will

  • Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming patrons and assisting with their fitness goals
  • Educate members on the proper use of fitness equipment and ensure safety standards are met
  • Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance to ensure a safe and clean environment
  • Oversee the fitness center desk, providing wristbands to members, checking membership status, and verifying matinee memberships
  • Stay informed about group fitness class schedules and assist participants as needed
  • Build positive and lasting relationships with fitness members to encourage their success and satisfaction
  • Actively contribute to a positive, energetic, and motivating atmosphere within the fitness center

Who you are?

The ideal candidate is passionate about fitness and enjoys engaging with people in a supportive and professional manner. You have:

  • A High School Diploma (required)
  • Personal training or group fitness certification through CanFitPro, CSEP, or AFLCA (an asset)
  • Standard First Aid certification (required)
  • At least three (3) months of experience working in a recreation or fitness facility, preferably with municipal or customer service experience
