Position: Personal Support Worker Instructor
Job Type: Part-time and Hybrid
Location: CDI College, Mississauga Campus
Expected Start Date: Jan 26th, 2026
Hourly Wage: $32/hr
Your Day to Day:
Specifically, the Instructor will be responsible for:
Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in the Personal Support Worker program curriculum.
- Plan, prepare, and implement lesson plans that meet the learning objectives of the course.
- Use diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including lectures, group discussions, and hands-on activities.
Student Support and Development:
- Provide academic support to students, including tutoring, mentoring, and guidance.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and participation.
- Offer constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and skills.
Curriculum and Program Development:
- Contribute to the development and updating of course materials to ensure relevance to industry standards.
- Align program content with current trends and needs in the social services sector.
- Participate in program reviews and make recommendations for improvements.
Administration and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to institutional goals.
Industry Engagement and Professional Development:
- Establish and maintain connections with social service agencies to facilitate student placements or program improvement.
- Stay updated on developments in the field of social services to bring current knowledge into the classroom.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts as needed.
- Support the coordination of field practicums or internships for students.
- Address student concerns and mediate conflicts when necessary.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Degree, diploma or certification from a recognized university
- Three or more years’ experience in a related field
- A minimum of 1-year instructional experience or hold a certificate in adult learning
Nice To Have:
- Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
- Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches an asset
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- High standards of behavior, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service
- Ability to work cooperatively with other instructors and staff
- Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of students, to provide feedback and treat students equitably
- Learn and use technology to enhance the student learning experience.
