Captain - Regular at Oceanex

We presently have an opening for a Captain for one of our Ships sailing to and from Montreal, QC and St. John’s, NL. Reporting to the marine superintendent, the captain has overriding authority, and is responsible for the navigation, administration, management and security of the vessel, its cargo, pollution prevention and the crew.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a Captain;
• Master Mariner and/or Master Near Coastal certificate;
• Pilotage certificate, an asset

Skills:

• Excellent leadership, management and effective problem solving skills;
• Excellent navigating and pilotage skills;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Capacity to work under pressure;
• Bilingualism an asset (French & English).
