FIBRELINE MANAGER

YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Fibreline Manager leads and optimizes the Fibreline at the Kamloops Pulp Mill. This role has an advanced level of knowledge and a demonstrated track record in leading and managing world-class safety performance, as well as high level results in pulp production, human relations and continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities
ü Oversee day-to-day pulp manufacturing and adherence to quality and environmental plans;
ü Coordinate production schedules and grade changes with Technical Department, Fibre Supply and Logistics;
ü Monitor daily operation and coordinate improvement efforts with leaders in Operations and Maintenance;
ü Identify training needs of departments within the Fibreline and ensures manning is in place to support training and succession;
ü Investigates production or quality losses and ensure actions appropriate corrective actions are in place;
ü May be required to initiate mill or mill area shutdown or slowdown based on environmental emergency or compliance issues;
ü Responsible, in conjunction with the Shift Coordinator, for producing pulp to required specifications for the Kamyr, Brownstock, Bleach Plant, Chemical Unloading, Cleaners, Pulp Machine and Warehouse areas;
ü Second level supervisory responsibility for all Fibreline employees;
ü Responsible for 93 direct and indirect reports including 4 Area Superintendents, 5 Shift Coordinators and 84 hourly employees;
ü Keeps up-to-date on new and changing technologies and equipment in the pulp and paper industry;

ü Self-directed and works with minimal supervision;
ü Ability to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and deadlines;
ü Confident communicator at all levels of organization including listening, writing and presenting;
ü Change agent with the ability to collaborate well with others;
ü Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment and confidentiality;
ü Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
ü Detail oriented;
ü Exceptional coaching skills with proven ability to coach varying levels of the operation;
ü Work well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image.
Your Qualifications
ü Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field;
ü Minimum of 7 years experience working in Kraft pulp mill operations;
ü Advanced knowledge and a demonstrated track record in leading and managing world class safety performance, as well as high level results in pulp production;
ü Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement principles and techniques;
ü Previous experience leading and managing direct reports;
ü Working knowledge of capital budgets and long-range planning;
ü Expertise in reliability and in-depth knowledge of business principles;
ü Previous experience executing reliability assessments and initiating improvement projects;
ü Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite; previous experience using SAP is an asset.
