Azure Serverless Engineer

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for an Azure Serverless Engineer with strong Azure, API Management and TypeScript/Python experience to place at our client, a Big Five Bank.

Job Description:

  • We are looking for Serverless Engineer to drive the adoption and engineering of API-first and event-driven architecture on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with Azure API Management (APIM) and Azure Functions, enabling teams to deliver scalable, secure, and modern workloads without heavy infrastructure overhead
  • This role will partner with application developers, security, and platform engineering teams to deliver reusable patterns, accelerate delivery and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • Design, develop and manage serverless workloads using Azure Functions (HTTP triggers, Event Hub, Service Bus, blob triggers, etc)
  • Enable API-first architectures by designing and implementing Azure API Management policies, subscriptions and developer portal features
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC ) using Hashicorp CDKTF and ARM templates
  • Strong background in in REST APIs, JSON and authorization/authentication (OAuth2, OpenID, etc)
  • Create reusable patterns for event-driver solutions leveraging Azure Event Grid, Service Bus and Logic Apps
  • Strong TypeScript and Python scripting capabilities.
  • Integrate Serverless workloads with security services, such as Azure Key Vault, Managed Identities and Azure AD
  • Establish engineering standards and best practices for serverless architectures.
  • Work with enterprise security and compliance teams to define APIM authentication, authorizations, rate limiting, etc
