Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Nursing Education & Professional Practice, you will provide nursing clinical and educational expertise with a patient-centered & evidence-informed focus to support nursing excellence corporately and within our Medical Step Down and CTU-5MG Units, and providing cross-coverage to the ICU. You will be responsible for assessing learning needs, and designing, delivering and evaluating educational programs. You will play an active role in nursing and departmental visioning, planning and development. You will collaborate with others to assist in corporate-wide educational initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education preferred
- CNA Certification in relevant nursing specialty preferred
- Membership in nursing professional association preferred
- Demonstrated critical care nursing expertise is required
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant health legislation and standards of practice
- Commitment to excellence in all aspects of the discipline: professional practice, education, & research
- Strong clinical and theoretical background within specific clinical area(s)
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership in nursing clinical practice and education
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability in all aspects of adult education, including needs analysis, program and curriculum design, and evaluation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to utilize principles of knowledge transfer to facilitate practice change & implementation of best practices
- Ability to work with a high degree of proficiency both independently and collaboratively with teams
- Excellent project-management skills
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize, & prioritize work within a dynamic environment
- Good attendance and work record are essential
- Excellent working knowledge of current and future trends in health care & within the nursing profession
- A resume outlining additional education, qualifications and experience must accompany the application
- Identify learning needs of individuals, units and departments to support clinical (nursing) program goals and best practices
- Coordinate, plan, develop, implement and evaluate nursing educational programs
- Work collaboratively with others to identify learning needs and develop education/training programs to meet these needs, and evaluate the outcomes
- Assist in the facilitation of a welcoming environment for all learners
- Promote and contribute to an environment that encourages research, it’s application and implementation & evaluation of best practices
- Support excellence in nursing professional practice through leadership practice, education, project management and change agency
