Under the leadership of the Senior Manager, Retail and Training, the Retail Training Team is dedicated to the successful implementation of education strategies within our stores. Retail Training Managers provide expert training, coaching, and support to store leaders and employees, ensuring the highest level of client engagement, selling & service, and operational excellence. They play a crucial role in driving and executing education strategies, supporting store leadership in identifying and developing beauty advisors, and ultimately delivering on key company objectives to meet client needs. Partnering with the Senior Manager, Retail and Training, the team develops and executes relevant education strategies that address the specific needs of their assigned portfolio of stores. The Retail Training Manager is responsible for the successful execution of the education strategy in stores. This role will provide the highest level of client engagement, selling & service, and operational excellence, as well as coaching, support, and subject matter expertise to store leadership to successfully drive the education strategy forward within the assigned portfolio of stores.
What You’ll Do:
TRAINING & COACHING DELIVERY – 90%
- Execute the retail training strategy by facilitating identified learning interventions that support store, market, and organizational needs and focus (in-store, classroom, virtual) and lift retail objectives
- Drive client engagement, selling & service, and operational excellence through relevant, relatable, engaging, and exceptional training execution with a strong focus on driving retail and company objectives
- Observe and coach store leadership teams on and off-stage on their delivery of coaching, training, Touchbases, etc. to ensure quality and consistency across all stores
- Ensure store team members at all levels are aware of and participating in training programs (Foundational Learning/Leadership, Daily Dose, etc.)
- Support and execute New Store Opening (NSO) training and coaching
SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE – 5%
- Act as subject matter expert on store-facing training materials and interventions for various retail/education programs and initiatives
- Edit and validate training materials for retail-facing programs and initiatives
- Execute defined AORs throughout the year that support retail and organizational initiatives
GAP ANALYSIS – 5%
- Observe and solicit feedback on training programming from store teams to determine strengths and gaps
- Partner with Sr. Manager and market leaders to uncover needs
- Proactively recommend future learning interventions and make suggestions for existing program optimizations based on on-the-job observations, feedback, and insights/data
What You’ll Bring:
- 2-4 years in the cosmetic/beauty industry or education equivalent
- Expert ability in delivering training interventions and curricula both in-person and virtually
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate expertise in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
- Elevated expertise in makeup, skincare, haircare, and fragrance
- Demonstrate and model exceptional client service standards
- Excellent decision-making ability and ability to utilize independent, sound judgment
- Ability to work effectively independently and with others to achieve deliverables
- Demonstrate agility to meet market needs as retail priorities shift
- Certificate in Adult Education Certificate or equivalent work experience
Working conditions:
- 4+ days in the field (in store, classroom) training and coaching, including evenings and weekends as retail priorities dictate (e.g., promotions, holiday)
- A working and reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel across Canada 40-50% of time to deliver training and support retail initiatives
- Comfort in working in multiple environments, sometimes in the same week (in-store, offsite, home)
- Comfort working in a Fragrance-filled environment
