We're a lean, fast-moving team backed by top investors, and we're looking for a precision-oriented intern to help us scale our security operations.

The Role

As a Security Advisor Intern, you will be the engine behind our platform's precision. You will work directly within customer platforms to ensure their security configurations are rock-solid. This is a non-customer-facing role where your work directly impacts the security posture of dozens of emerging tech companies. There many be other tasks required as needed to support Mycroft GRC and Customer Success teams in a fast growing startup.

This role provides exposure applicable to many career paths:

• Cybersecurity/GRC majors: Learn the technical side of compliance and risk.
• Software/Engineering majors: Gain hands-on exposure to a startup Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
• Business majors: Learn how "Trust" is a strategic product that helps companies close deals.

Your Key Mission

• Administrative Compliance Tasks: Assist with a variety of compliance tasks, including editing security policies and assessments, and leveraging our AI agents to conduct third-party risk assessments.
• Evidence Management: Review and validate technical evidence (logs, configurations, and screenshots) to ensure it meets rigorous, audit-grade standards.
• AI Agent Feedback: Collaborate with our engineering team to provide feedback on AI performance-directly helping us make our "Virtual CISO" smarter and more accurate.

What We're Looking For

• Attention to Detail: You have a "measure twice, cut once" mindset. You find satisfaction in the details and high-precision tasks.
• SaaS Curious: You want to know how the modern cloud works and how companies like Slack, Stripe, and AWS stay secure.
• Tech-Fluent: You don't need to be a coder; however, you embrace using AI tools while understanding their limitations.
• Team Player: You stay on top of your tasks to support the team and communicate proactively.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an applicable program at SAIT (Cybersecurity, CS, Engineering, Product, Business, etc.).
• Strong written communication skills - keep your peers up to date on your progress in meetings and Slack
• Accountable, reliable, and comfortable with ambiguity-we move fast!
• Previous experience with SaaS tools or organizations is a plus, but we will train you either way
