What You'll Be Doing

CIBC’s Payments business is a newly created vertical within the bank focused on providing corporate and government clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centers around the world. Within Payments, Global Transaction Banking (“GTB”) is a large, strategic part of CIBC’ Capital Markets business comprised of CIBC’s Cash Management, Correspondent Banking and Trade Finance teams. Within GTB is the Global Liquidity Solutions (“GLS)” team which is singularly focused on growing CIBC’s deposit base from our Capital Markets clients.

Reporting to the Head, Global Liquidity Solutions, we are hiring a Director, Global Liquidity Solutions to help champion deposit and liquidity management initiatives in alignment with GTB’s strategic objectives.

The expected annualized base salary for this role is CAD $150,000.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How You'll Succeed

  • Client relationships - Work directly with relationship managers across the Corporate Banking and Cash Management businesses to provide our clients with market leading liquidity management advice and solutions that enhance and simplify their working capital management. Build and maintain deep relationships with Relationship Managers, Cash Management Sales Managers and Treasury partners
  • Product knowledge - Be regarded as a subject matter expert in all facets of deposits, including liquidity value, pricing and structuring
  • Advice & Solutions - Attend, participate and/or lead client meetings in order to provide market and industry knowledge, advice and solutions relating to liquidity. Evaluate and support where appropriate deposit pricing requests within assigned authorities, balancing the maximizing of net interest income and overall client relationship profitability while growing deposit base. Provide support and advice for large and /or complex deposit related matters for relationship managers, cash managers and clients or prospects
  • Competitive landscape - Monitor and communicate regional competitive trends to the front line and regional partners
  • Collaboration and innovation - Identify and explore new products and/or capabilities; work closely with internal stakeholders to improve or develop products and related marketing collateral and fulfilment processes
  • Target-focused - Support the Sales team’s implementation of short and long term regional strategies to meet regional deposit growth and revenue targets
  • Presentations - Prepare and deliver presentations to business partners for the purpose of liquidity framework education and communication of capabilities and strategies.
  • Market insights - Source, analyze, and organize interest rate and economic data/commentary for the purposes of delivering market insights to business partners and clients

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or related field and either have or are committed to achieving your CTP designation within 24 months. A Master’s degree or additional professional designation would be an asset. You can also demonstrate strong knowledge of liquidity/deposits products, treasury and short-term investment options for corporate clients
  • You can demonstrate experience in the financial industry with a focus in large corporate banking experience. You have five (5)+ years’ experience in treasury relationship or liquidity management within larger organizations along with a good grasp of macro and micro factors that affect the deposit and liquidity investment market globally, including knowledge of financial regulations across markets
  • You possess strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with an ability to present findings in concise verbal and written presentations
  • You know that details matter. You are able to work in a fast-paced, results oriented environment centered around clients and with keen attention to detail
  • You are technically savvy. You are proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • You are fluent in English and are proficient in speaking and writing
