The Opportunity

We are a leading Canadian financial services co-operative committed to being a catalyst for a sustainable and resilient society and our team is essential to deliver on this strategy. That’s why we prioritize our people, to ensure we provide a strong culture and development opportunities which enables our team to thrive and to live our purpose. The best part is that you will work with people that care passionately about you, our clients, and our communities.

We are driving a transformation in the insurance industry, one that leverages our cooperative values and builds a digital enterprise that stands out in an increasingly crowded digital world. Our Channels & Emerging Business Model Technology team uses the same state-of-the-art technology, development practices and processes as leaders in the market and helps you grow your career by supporting you with a culture that makes it easier to get things done. The best part is that you will work with people that care passionately about you, our clients, our company and our higher social purpose.

We’re building the next wave of client and partner experiences across our EBM portfolio, and we’re looking for an architect to lead solution design and technical direction spanning Salesforce and low-code platforms, with an eye toward AI enablement. In this role, you’ll shape end‑to‑end solutions, set guardrails and patterns, and collaborate with delivery teams to turn architecture into working applications —guiding integrations, data flows, security-by-design, and performance across our EBM ecosystem. You’ll partner closely with product, engineering, enterprise architecture, security and other technology delivery teams to align roadmaps, de‑risk decisions, and accelerate delivery. You are comfortable writing ADRs, coaching teams through trade‑offs, and presenting complex ideas clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences. If you’re energized by designing reusable patterns, leading proofs of concept, and helping teams deliver secure, resilient solutions, we’d love to talk.

In the second pillar of this role, you will help define and drive the strategic direction for client and advisor-facing platforms across our digital ecosystem. Your role centers on setting long-term architectural vision, aligning technology choices with business objectives, and ensuring scalability, security, and resilience. You will lead evaluations of emerging technologies and market trends to inform strategic roadmaps, guiding technical investment decisions and platform evolution. Success in this role means influencing priorities, shaping standards, and communicating a clear strategy to both business stakeholders and technical teams.

How You Will Create Impact

  • You demonstrate an innovative approach to complex challenges and possess the ability to influence change, always prioritizing client needs.
  • Translate business (functional and non-functional) requirements into clear, workable designs that guide development and ensure applications and system integrations are thoughtfully planned and documented.
  • Provide architectural leadership and guidance aligning with the target state architecture to data architects and data engineers.
  • Drive continuous innovation by identifying and evaluating emerging technologies that enhance client and advisor experiences.
  • Work with other IT teams, like infrastructure, security or enterprise architecture, to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and practices.

How You Will Succeed

  • You have an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.
  • You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view.
  • You build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.

To Join Our Team

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing technical leadership for complex solution environments (including software, and infrastructure).

  • Experience with developing solution architectures within an agile development environment would be considered an asset.
  • Experience implementing complex digital solutions that use multiple enterprise grade, cloud-based platforms.
  • Experience deploying multi-cloud architectures would be considered an asset.

What You Need To Know
