The Opportunity
The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and troubleshooting information technology systems and processes to enhance organizational efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. This role involves evaluating new and existing IT systems, ensuring compatibility and integration with current infrastructure, and supporting project delivery through documentation including process maps and diagrams, testing, and stakeholder collaboration. The Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between technical teams and clients, ensuring that business requirements are accurately captured and translated into effective solutions.
This is an onsite position working out of our Edmonton office. This position is expected to work East Coast hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST).

What You Will Do
- Analyze, design, and optimize IT systems and workflows to meet organizational objectives.
- Evaluate and enhance existing systems or design new solutions in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
- Lead client discovery sessions to define, document, and clarify both technical and non-technical business workflows, ensuring full understanding of current processes and future-state requirements.
- Develop detailed design documentation, including process diagrams and workflow visuals, for client review and sign-off, ensuring both end-user clarity and sufficient technical detail for development teams.
- Test and validate system compatibility and integration with infrastructure, networks, and applications.
- Develop models and utilize analytical tools such as process maps, flow charts, and diagrams to support solution development.
- Assist management with project planning, risk assessment, and tracking to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
- Create coding and logic specifications for development teams as needed.
- Conduct client meetings to gather business and technical requirements, including workflow scenarios, forms, reports, and integration needs.
- Prepare comprehensive product and project documentation, including Statement of Work, Scope Documentation, Administrative Guides and User Guides.
- Collaborate with development teams to test and remediate identified issues during implementation.
- Work with end users and fellow Business Analysts to configure system functionality and conduct end-user testing.
- Train end users to ensure effective system utilization.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting for Catalis software
- Execute internal quality assurance testing to confirm software functionality in client environments.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and developers to monitor software performance and implement solutions.
- Communicate effectively with internal implementation teams and external clients.
- Facilitate client user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide go-live support.
- Deliver a high-quality customer experience throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you Will Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 4–7 years of experience in business analysis related to system implementation, configuration, and application development.
- Demonstrated experience leading requirements discovery and workflow definition sessions with clients and cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional documentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in SQL Server and a foundational understanding of Windows development techniques and Microsoft development environments.
- Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience gathering and interpreting information from business users.
- Experience creating workflow and design documentation using Microsoft Visio or similar tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Ability to complete Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) training and pass a secondary FBI Level background check.
- Experience working within court systems.
- Familiarity with court case management systems.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience using Jira and Smartsheet.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and server infrastructure.
