Faculty/Department Library Unit Library Employee Group CUPE 5791 CUPE 5791 Job Family Operational Services Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary The Library Technology Support Assistant provides routine technology support to the faculty and staff of the University Library and Archives, including both hardware and software.

Areas of Responsibility and Typical Duties:
  • Update content on the Library and Archives website, the Library blog, or other similar venues as directed
  • Assist the Library Technical Analyst with deployment of new equipment
  • Perform routine updates of faculty and staff computers
  • Update the Library Intranet as directed
  • Track updates and equipment, and maintain records in a centralized source
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of faculty and staff computers and peripherals
  • Other duties as required
Position Requirements
  • Course work or work experience in Computer Science or other technology-focused areas
  • Familiarity with PC hardware components and their functions
  • Demonstrated computer skills and working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office 365, and other broadly used computer software
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software and hardware configurations
Physical Demands Can lift and carry up to 50 pounds Pay Grade CUPE Phase 1 Salary Range $16.30 per hour; as per CUPE 5791 Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 4:30 based on student availability; up to 12 hours per week Course Modality Course Dates and Time Duration (if Term/Temporary) until April 30, 2026 Full-Time/Part-Time Casual Preference Posting No Preference Target Posting Not Targeted Additional Information
