The Coordinator, Virtual Care will support the development of virtual care pathways by working directly with primary care teams, specialists and specialized services within respective service areas. A key objective of this role is to support the implementation of a consultation to conversation model of care (three-way video-enabled encounters). As a member of a virtual care coordinator team, and working together with the Lead, Northern Interior Rural Division Primary Care Network (NIRD PCN), the Coordinator, Virtual Care will support the overall development, implementation, integration, and evaluation of processes in support of video-enabled encounters. Working together with patients and their families, and health care teams, the Coordinator, Virtual Care is responsible to facilitate the coordination of these virtual encounters, when appropriate.
The salary for this position is from $57,347 to $71,684 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions. The salary for part time positions will be prorated.
Dawson Creek Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education. Qualifications
- Diploma program in healthcare administration, medical office administration or project management, plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recent related experience in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated related experience in a primary and specialized care environment preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated competency in cultural safety and humility, including but not limited to: awareness of the importance of First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultural identity, and the organizations commitment to providing a safe and respectful health care system free of racism and discrimination.
- Ability to work as an effective member of an integrated virtual team.
- Ability to communicate effectively using both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to disseminate technical information to end-users remotely.
- High comfort level with various technology platforms, such as MS Teams, Zoom, iOS, Android.
- Ability to work occasional flexible hours to accommodate meetings with family physicians and specialists.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license will be required for travel within the Northern Interior region.
