The estimator works under the supervision of the Director of Integrated Solutions. This person updates estimation tools, manages suppliers and pricing, and carries out the estimation process in collaboration with project managers to establish costs and budgets. They prepare quotes and coordinate the purchase of materials, ensure price lists are kept up to date, and participate in client meetings. This is a newly created position, a brand-new opportunity within the organization.

The estimator works under the supervision of the Director of Integrated Solutions. This person updates estimation tools, manages suppliers and pricing, and carries out the estimation process in collaboration with project managers to establish costs and budgets. They prepare quotes and coordinate the purchase of materials, ensure price lists are kept up to date, and participate in client meetings. This is a newly created position, a brand-new opportunity within the organization.
Responsabilities
- Update and implement the necessary estimation tools, including Excel files that consolidate suppliers and their price lists;
- Carry out the complete estimation process, including the analysis of quotes and quantity take-offs from plans, in collaboration with the project manager (determining costs by item, by supplier, and by project);
- Gather and analyze the required information to properly establish schedules and budgets;
- Keep price lists up to date for the integrated solutions department (prices of accessories, manufacturing, etc., according to suppliers);
- Update the list of suppliers specific to the integrated solutions department;
- Participate in updating price lists for the sales department;
- Participate in meetings with clients regarding bid requests;
- Draft bids and technical documents for tenders;
- Coordinate the purchase of materials for turnkey projects, in collaboration with the project manager and the administrative assistant;
- Perform any other related tasks.
- Hold a college or vocational diploma, or possess relevant experience in the industrial or mining sector;
- Any other combination of qualifications and/or relevant experience will also be considered.
- Mastery of spoken and written French;
- Intermediate knowledge of English, both spoken and written, allowing for communication about 20% of the time with our suppliers (preparing bids, understanding technical documentation);
- Technical knowledge in mechanics, electricity, and piping;
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications;
- Good command of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor software (an asset);
- Good understanding of pump mechanics (an asset).
