As a Respiratory Therapist I, you’ll practice to full scope, working alongside an interdisciplinary team to diagnose & manage patients of all ages with cardiopulmonary and related disorders. Description:
As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.
Classification: Resp Therapist I Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Respiratory Therapy Primary Location: Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.42 Posting End Date: 14-JAN-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp P/T Benefits Date Available: 26-JAN-2026 Temporary End Date: 22-FEB-2027 Hours per Shift: 7.75/11.08 Length of Shift in weeks: 8 Shifts per cycle: 17 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $40.73 Maximum Salary: $52.34 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable
Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current Basic Life Support - Health Care Provider certification. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Ability to work 11.08-hour day/night rotations. Flexibility to work in all hospital areas, including NICU, Pediatrics, Labor & Delivery, PACU, Wards, ED, Ambulatory RT, and ICU.
Preferred Qualifications:
PALS and ACLS certifications. Recent acute and critical care experience within the past 5 years. Formal mentorship and preceptorship training and Connect Care experience are assets.
