Compounding Pharmacy Assistant at Langford Group Rx

We are currently looking for a Compounding Pharmacy Assistant to join our team of professionals. The ideal applicant will bring a strong background in pharmacy technical skills and passion for patient care to the position.
The Compounding Pharmacy Assistant will:
Work closely with the pharmacist and the rest of the pharmacy team to prepare and dispense medications in an accurate, safe and timely manner.
Weigh, measure and mix raw material ingredients and ensure finished batches of compounded preparations meet quality specifications.
Prepare a variety of medications in various dosage forms including topical creams, capsules, suspensions, suppositories, etc. in accordance with Company policy and NAPRA guidelines.
Fill medication orders, receive and input prescriptions into software system, etc.
Communicate externally with patients/customers, healthcare providers, and suppliers.
Order, organize & stock products in pharmacy and compounding lab.
Ensure the compounding lab and related equipment are cleaned, sanitized and maintained to uphold regulatory standards.
Work in a team environment to maximize service quality and ensure the best customer experience, every time.
Follow all SOPs, double check calculations, record compounding procedures, lot and expiry of ingredients, etc.
Contribute to a healthy, safe and inclusive work environment.
Actively promote services to grow patient base.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
Training and experience in pharmacy compounding is preferred.
A diploma from a recognized Pharmacy Assistant/Technician program is considered an asset.
Attention to detail required for critical tasks like medication preparation and distribution.
Proficient in basic math calculations.
Must be able to manage changing priorities and work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Must also be able to to use compounding lab equipment and be able to stand, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of time and perform light lifting.
