JOB SUMMARY

The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing inventory management processes within the Specialty Pharmacy department. This role leverages data-driven insights to improve ERP system accuracy, streamline workflows, and support strategic decision-making. The position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders – including finance, procurement, and pharmacy operations – to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and risk mitigation. Additional roles in special projects and close inventory monitoring will be required. Success in this role depends on strong analytical capabilities, proficiency with digital systems, and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable solutions that enhance operational performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct detailed analysis of inventory data to identify trends, variances, and process improvement opportunities that align with business objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into system enhancements and workflow optimizations for ERP and pharmacy dispensing platforms.
  • Accurately manages purchase/sales of inventory from various distributers/suppliers into the ERP
  • Develop and maintain inventory forecasting models using historical data, market trends, and seasonal patterns to support strategic planning.
  • Support Pharmacy Managers to identify and implement cost effective measures
  • Prepare and present actionable insights and recommendations to leadership for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams – including procurement, finance, supply chain, and pharmacy operations – to define requirements and implement solutions.
  • Monitor and validate data integrity across ERP and dispensing systems, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Evaluates multi-SKU products for order accuracy and provides support to pharmacy purchasing teams
  • Design and generate KPI dashboards and performance reports to track inventory accuracy, operational metrics, and compliance indicators.
  • Identify and escalate risks impacting inventory performance or business objectives to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Supports an effective, ongoing cycle count and full annual inventory count program with the Risk Mitigation Manager, Finance and Pharmacy Operations
  • Support implementation of automation tools and inventory control systems to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention.
  • Validates open orders and ensures timely review by Pharmacy Operations
  • Support generation of inventory, KPI, and compliance metricreports for review by the Risk Mitigation Manager on a regular basis and as required
  • Performs and documents accurate inventory adjustments as per validated process
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data analytics to enhance inventory management strategies.
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to share insights, resolve issues, and align on process improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, quality assurance standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Regularly meet with Pharmacy Management team as required to share information, solve problems, improve efficiencies, and develop policies and procedures to ensure optimal inventory operations
  • Works with Manager, National Pharmacy Operations regarding any performance management issues or concerns
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support business objectives

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Minimum college diploma in Business Operations or equivalent experience
  • Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERP’s such as Microsoft Navision is required
  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing software preferred
  • Familiarity with pharmacy automation and robotics
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an analyst or in a comparable role with a strong focus on data analytics and inventory management.
  • Flexible and adaptable to fulfill business needs
  • Driven to improve processes and innovate for efficiency
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office
  • Advanced Excel skills are required

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
