Medicine Hat College’s School of Arts, Science and Education invites applications for a part-time instructor in Education for EDUC 4030, Practicum II.
A little about the role:
EDUC 4030 is the final full-term practicum in the Winter 2026 term for fourth-year pre-service education students. The primary workload will include 1.5 sections of EDUC 4030, supervising a small group of pre-service teachers over 14 weeks in local area schools. The responsibility of this part-time faculty role will be to connect with pre-service teachers and mentors weekly, conduct lesson observations, as well as facilitate weekly seminar discussions. The successful candidate will need to have significant K – 12 teaching experience, mentorship skills, and the ability to guide pre-service teachers in planning, classroom management, and innovative pedagogies. This position requires passion, commitment to learners, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team.

As a successful applicant you'll have:
- Master’s Degree in a related field is required
- Significant K – 12 teaching experience
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
Term of Appointments: (ASAP) January 19, 2026 - April 28, 2026
Hours of Work: As scheduled (includes evening and weekend shifts)
