About The Role
MWHis currently seeking a qualified Vice President of Operations to support projects within Canada.The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for the management and direction of existing projects while also developing and guiding new business opportunities in a geographic area.
Essential Functions
- Provides leadership, strategy, and direction, with the primary responsibility of sustained growth, as well as makes decisions and recommendations that greatly affect profitability of operations.
- Establish objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards for a geographic area, within the boundaries of corporate policy.
- Support business development, client relations, marketing, pursuit and project bid activities.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of Project Managers to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Monitor financial aspects of contracts; e.g. fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.
- Protects company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with clients.
- Ensures that all projects executed by staff incorporate the project planning techniques prescribed by the Management Administration Plan. Provide appropriate input and review as required.
- Be accountable for ensuring projects are staffed with the appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives within company profit model.
- Be an integral part of the risk management process and reviews.
- Work closely with all members of the Constructors leadership team, including all support functions (Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, etc.).
- Ensure all employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- B.S. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related degree.
- 15+ years’ experience, knowledge and demonstrated success in program/construction management experience with large- and small-scale projects.
- Background in water/wastewater treatment plants, infrastructure, or heavy industrial projects.
- Results-oriented professional with proven ability to develop effective strategies, set target goals, and execute plans to meet financial and organization objectives.
- Understanding of how to mitigate commercial risk to enhance opportunities for successful business and project performance.
- Must have integrity and strong sense of ethical standards with a reputation of conducting business fairly and honestly.
- Strong executive presence and personnel management skills with the ability to set direction, align and motivate others to achieve excellence.
- Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral; will be required to conduct presentations.
- Effective computer skills including project management, spreadsheets, Prolog, and presentation software.
