YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION
As Gryd's Full-Stack Engineering Lead & Architect, you'll steer a small but mighty team of developers as we build products that make a real impact. You will serve as the bridge between product and engineering, translating business requirements into clear task descriptions and driving the roadmap by setting priorities and deadlines. This role balances hands-on coding with team leadership, mentoring developers, championing best practices, and collaborating across teams to ensure technology scales in step with the business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Technical Leadership: Guide the technical direction of projects, ensuring high-quality software development practices and aligning with the company's strategic goals.
- Code Development: Actively contribute to coding and software development, often setting the standard for code quality and efficiency.
- Software Architect: Translate business goals into a technical blueprint that guides the engineering team on how to build the solution balancing the current software state with short and long-term requirements
- Team Building & Mentorship: As the team grows, participate in the hiring process, mentor junior developers, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Project & Team Management: Oversee project timelines and manage the development team, ensuring they remain focused on critical priorities and operate at optimal capacity to meet milestones on time and within budget.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams like product management especially, but also operations, design, marketing and sales to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
OUR CURRENT TECH STACK
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS;
- Frontend: React (web) & React Native (mobile) & Typescript, Tanstack (or RTKQuery), Zustand (or Redux);
- Backend: NestJS, TypeOrm, Node (TypeScript-first architecture);
- Databases: Relational(PostgreSQL) & NoSQL(MongoDB);
- Testing: Jest (unit, integration & e2e);
- DevOps: CI/CD Pipelines & Orchestration: Docker, CloudBuild, GitHub Actions, IaC (Terraform);
- Third-party Integrations: Stripe, QuickBooks Online, Firebase Authentication, and Twilio
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of Software Development Experience, with 2+ years of experience as a Senior Developer
- FullStack and Mobile Development
- Perform Developer Code Reviews
- 4+ years of FullStack Web and Cloud Development Experience (GCP, AWS)
- (Nice to have) Experience creating Cloud Solution Architecture
- Production-Level Experience creating Mobile Applications while working with Startups and small teams
- Development of React Native and Mobile Apps
- Must be able to speak towards 2+ Products which have a User base
- Knowledge and experience analyzing and manipulating data using tools such as SQL and NoSQL
- Extensive experience with creating RESTful APIs to be consumed by Web and Mobile Applications
- (Nice to have) Experience creating Local-First Architectures
- 2+ years of Technical Lead Experience
- Create Acceptance Criteria for Developer Tickets
- Map UI/UX Design Features to Acceptance Criteria
- Coordinate with Stakeholders on Applications Version Releases
- Navigate Backwards API Compatibility where needed between all Products
- User Release Notifications
- Technical feasibility review of UI/UX Designs for development work
- Experience making technical decisions concerning 3rd party software products and APIs
- Experience managing project deliverables, scope & expectations and coordinate project progress with upper management, and executives.
- Provide Roadmaps and Timelines to Business
- Work with Development Team performing Scrum Master type responsibilities
- Holding Daily Standups
- Plan Sprints
- Manage Product Backlog
- Work with Business Team performing Product Owner type responsibilities from a Technical perspective
- Developing Technical Features
- Proven experience in HaaS & SaaS
- Excited about building clean deployable code in a results-focused environment
- Demonstrated experience in driving agile software development between hardware, software, and QA teams.
- Contribute to the documentation of technical specifications, user guides, and other relevant materials.
