Position Summary
Reporting to the department of Institutional Research and Strategic Planning, the incumbent serves as the subject matter expert in Institutional Research to the College in support of planning, policy formulation and decision making for the President and Senior team at both strategic and operational levels.
S/he provides analytics that will advance the College’s organizational goals and strategic priorities. In general, s/he is responsible to provide institutional research tools and services to the following processes/areas:
Human Resources (analysis of constituency leave balance averages, SWF’s, FTE’s, salaries, equity and diversity, labour relations, etc.)
Program Review, Program Prioritization and Program Development
Strategic Enrolment Management (per semester)
President’s Office initiatives
Labour Market Studies
Student Feedback on Teaching (per semester) – development, administration and reporting
Employer, Graduate, and Student Satisfaction KPI analysis and reporting (annual)
Student Experience – administration, reporting and analysis (annual)
Employee Engagement – analysis and reporting (per semester)
Numerous other research and surveys
The incumbent is expected to provide thoughtful and proactive analysis and recommendations for advancing the College’s strategic priorities and initiatives.
The Institutional Research Analyst is part of the Institutional Research and Strategic Planning team responsible for the design and implementation of new and modified strategic intelligence processes which deliver increasingly efficient business outcomes, support academic/institutional excellence and student success, while maintaining and improving both program and service delivery.
This position requires a thorough understanding of higher education data sources and analytical methods that will help inform strategic changes to assist in making this organization a leader in evidence based decision making.

Specific course(s), certification, qualification, formal training or accreditation required for the position
Additional Requirements
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, human relations, problem-solving and communication skills; technical writing skills; computer skills such as word processing, spread sheeting, database management.
Experience with College sector Program Review, Faculty Evaluations, Strategic Enrolment Management and survey administration.
Field(s) of Study
Four-year degree in such disciplines as Social Sciences or Humanities, Education, Statistics, Research Methods or a related field

- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience with the Faculty Evaluation process in a College environment.
- Experience with the Program Review processes in a College environment.
- Experience with Strategic Enrolment Management processes in a College environment.
- Experience administering surveys using Blue survey software.
- Experience supporting Presidents office / Senior administration.
- Familiarity with local and regional data in order to help guide college planning.
- Familiarity with Banner, ODS Cognos, OCAS Data warehouse, EMSI Analyst and other data collection sources.
- Expectation to anticipate and lead Senior Level employees by providing relevant and accurate decision making data.
- Ability to work with highly confidential material.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of independence.
